Thomas J. Barrett began his practice of law in Lynn, Massachusetts, with the late Attorney Richard Riley. He then joined the Essex County District Attorney's Office where he prosecuted in Superior Court from 1973 until 1980. While in the District Attorney's Office, he successfully handled many serious felonies and murders and tried hundreds of cases before Essex County juries. In 1980, Mr. Barrett joined Costello, Frattaroli, Barrett, and Hourihan in practice in Salem, Massachusetts, and concentrated in probate practice and civil trial practice until 1995 when he opened his own practice, Thomas J. Barrett, P.C. Since 1995, Attorney Barrett has continued his concentration in Probate and Family Court and continues also his civil trial practice in District and Superior Courts. He also maintains a selective criminal defense practice.
